Would I Benefit From Seeing a Psychotherapist?
We all encounter uncomfortable feelings at some point or another within our lives. A number of emotions such as disappointment, hopelessness, anxiety and stress naturally occur as a part of our life. As an example, it is fairly normal to experience some degree of anxiety as well as stress prior to an interview or business presentation.
Where it becomes a problem is when these thoughts overwhelm you so much that it becomes challenging for you to perform normally in your usual daily life. If you are anxious, tearful, have eating issues, sleep disorders, have poor attention, are lacking direction, have hardly any energy and enthusiasm, are drinking or using drugs in an excessive way, have persistant low mood, having difficulties managing your temper or getting along with people, then you ought to really think about visiting a psychotherapist.

I blend all my training, skills and experience to deliver a treatment which is incredibly adaptable and customised to your own unique personal requirements. I have obtained additional professional training in dealing with addictions, anger management, insomnia and sleep disorders, the treatment of IBS, managing pain, stress management skills, and nature-based therapies (Ecotherapy), human development, psychopathology, mindfulness and Ethical Practice. I am an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist, as well as a fully trained and accredited GHR supervisor and am qualified to offer supervision to complementary practitioners.
All treatment is carried out privately on a one-to-one basis, in a highly constructive, relaxed, supportive and non-judgemental environment. Treatment is usually comprised of 60 minute sessions, held at regular weekly intervals.

How can I be sure that you are the right therapist for me?
I am well aware that it is essential that you feel at ease your therapist. Which is one reason I offer an Initial Consultation Session without any obligation to continue.
This provides us the chance to meet face-to-face, obtain a detailed case history and also discuss your problems, required outcomes and the treatment method, in much more detail. Offering you the opportunity to ask any
questions, before making up your mind about continuing with the treatment. You will receive honest answers to any questions you might have as well as a realistic estimate of the number of sessions you would require. Also this initial session offers me the chance to determine if I can help you. If I don’t believe that I can help, I will not waste your time and energy, and may refer you to someone with more relevant experience.
If you would prefer to have a brief chat before booking the Initial Consultation session then please call me on 0161 881 4333.
How many sessions will I need?
Since everyone is different this is often a very difficult question to answer without talking with you in significantly more depth. For short-term brief therapy working with a specific problem, you can expect to need to budget for around 6 to 12 sessions. For more deep rooted, life-long, chronic, or complex issues requiring longer term psychotherapy and counselling, a lot more sessions will of course be required. Sessions in most cases occur weekly, however this may be negotiated to fit with your circumstances. After our initial consultation I will have a lot better sense of both you together with the issues you wish to work on, and will be in a position to give you a better estimate.
