Would I Benefit From Seeing a Psychotherapist or Counsellor?
All of us encounter uncomfortable feelings at some point or another within our lives. A great number of emotions such as unhappiness, hopelessness, anxiety and stress typically occur as a part of our normal everyday life. As an example, it is quite normal to experience anxiety as well as stress prior to delivering a wedding speech or giving a presentation.
Where it becomes a problem is when these emotions overwhelm you so much that it becomes challenging for you to perform normally in your day to day life. If you are worried, tearful, have eating issues, insomnia problems, have poor attention, are lacking direction, have very low energy and enthusiasm, are drinking or using drugs excessively, have persistant low mood, having trouble managing your temper or getting along with people, then you ought to really think about visiting a psychotherapist or counsellor.
About me
I am a UKCP Registered and Accredited Psychotherapist (UKCP Reg.), a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), and an Accredited Contemporary Psychotherapist(AccMCCP), and I integrate Psychotherapy/Counselling with CBT, NLP, Life Coaching, Clinical Hypnotherapy and Ecotherapy. I provide both short-term psychotherapy and counselling (up to 16 sessions), and life coaching, as well as mid to long-term psychotherapy and counselling.
I’ve been in full-time private practice since 2002 and have carried out thousands of client sessions up to now. I integrate all my training, knowledge and experience to supply a treatment that is very adaptable and customised to your unique personal needs. I have obtained additional professional training in working with addictions, anger management, insomnia and sleep disorders, treating IBS, managing pain, panic disorders and anxiety, stress management strategies, and nature-based therapies (Ecotherapy), human development, psychopathology, CBT, EMDR, mindfulness and Ethical Practice. I am an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist, as well as a fully trained and accredited GHR supervisor and am qualified to offer supervision to alternative practitioners.
All treatment is carried out privately on a one-to-one basis, in a highly constructive, relaxed, supportive and non-judgemental environment. Treatment is usually comprised of 60 minute sessions, held at regular weekly intervals.

How can I be sure that you are the right therapist for me?
I realise that it is crucial that you feel at ease with your therapist. Which is why I offer an Initial Consultation Session with no obligation to continue.
This offers us the chance to meet face-to-face, take a detailed case history and discuss your problems, expected outcomes and the treatment process, in much more detail. Which gives you the opportunity to ask any questions, before making up your mind with regard to continuing with the treatment. You will get honest answers to any questions you might have as well as a realistic estimate of the number of sessions you will require. Also this initial session gives me the chance to determine if I will be able to help you. If I don’t believe that I could help, I will not waste your time and energy, and may refer you on to someone with more suitable experience.
If you would prefer to have a brief chat before booking the Initial Consultation session then please call me on 0161 881 4333.
How many sessions will I need?
Because everyone is different this can be a very difficult question to answer without talking to you in much more detail. For short-term brief therapy working with a particular specific issue, you can expect to need to plan for approximately 6 to 12 sessions. For more deep rooted, life-long, chronic, or challenging issues necessitating longer-term psychotherapy or counselling, more sessions will obviously be needed. Sessions typically take place weekly, however this can be negotiated to accommodate your circumstances. After our initial consultation I will have a far greater sense of both you together with the problems you would like to work on, and will be able to give you a better estimate.
