Payment Details
- Fees are usually paid at the end of each session. Payments in session can be made by card or cash. You can also pay by using the ‘Pay for appointment’ link in the booking confirmation and reminder emails.
- If you book online then you will pay for the session when you book.
- Group sessions must always be paid in full before the treatment commences.
- Breakthrough sessions require payment in full at the time of booking.
- Payment may be made by Cash, Debit Card, Credit Card Bank Transfer or Online via Card or PayPal. Cheques are no longer accepted.
- Refunds: You will be refunded in full if you have paid in advance and given more that 24 hours notice of cancellation. If I have to cancel your appointment, I will attempt to give as much notice as possible and refund any payment you may have made.
- No refunds are payable for sessions you’ve either already attended, or partially attended. You are paying for the use of my time which you request I set aside for you when you book the appointment. If you turn up late or leave early that is your choice about how much of that time you want to use. A therapist is not responsible for your organisational abilities, time management skills, family commitments, changing work schedules, unforeseen life events, personal finances, or even unrealistic expectations of therapy.
- No guarantees or claims of cure are offered. Therapy is a complicated and often very subtle process which requires both the therapist and client to work together towards the desired outcome over a period of time. Results are therefore dependent on the actions of both the therapist and the client. Whilst I will utilise all my skills and experience and do the very best I can to help you achieve the results you want, you are essentially paying for the use of my time, expertise, guidance, and experience rather than results because ultimately I am not solely responsible for them.
Rescheduling, Cancelling and Missed Appointments
- At least 1 working day’s notice is required when rescheduling or cancelling an appointment. Obviously, if you do not give adequate notice, you will be charged as if the session had taken place.
- If you fail to attend an appointment, you will be charged as if the session had taken place.
- If you frequently cancel, reschedule, or do not attend appointments, I reserve the right to either end your treatment or charge you in advance for your appointments.
- If a session fee has not been paid in advance, you will be invoiced for unpaid fees. Failure to pay this invoice will incur additional administration costs.
Ending your treatment
- You may, of course, end your treatment at any time, but you should notify me of your intentions to do so, and give the required notice period shown below.
- If you do not turn up for your appointment or give less than 1 working days notice, you will be invoiced for the session as if it had taken place.
- Notice Period for Short-term Therapies: Aim to give at least 1 weeks notice before ending your treatment.
- Notice Period for Mid to Long-term Psychotherapy / Counselling: I require a minimum of 4 weeks notice when ending your treatment as this allows loose ends to be tidied up and the treatment to be ended cleanly.
- I reserve the right to end your treatment at any time. If I do, I will give you as much notice as is possible. I would aim to give at the very minimum, the same notice as I would expect you to give me if you decided to end your treatment. However in practice I would usually give considerably more notice than that.

Refunds and Guarantees
- No guarantees or claims of cure are ever offered.
- No refund is payable for the sessions you have attended whatever the circumstances.
- If you pay in advance for the treatment, unused sessions will be refunded as soon as you inform me that you no longer wish to continue.
- If you paid by credit card, debit card or online, a small transaction handling fee may be deducted from any amount refunded to cover bank transaction charges.
- Nothing in life is guaranteed, and it is not considered professional or ethical to offer one. A doctor, counsellor, psychotherapist, or psychiatrist, does not offer a money back guarantee, simply because they understand that the complexity of the human mind and body make it impossible to predict with 100% certainty what the exact results will be. Therapy is not a magic wand that ‘zaps’ the problems away ‘while-you-wait’, but is instead a collaborative and gradual process where we both work together over a period of time to help you make changes. Therefore the results are to some extent also dependent on your commitment, motivation and involvement in your own change process. The most successful clients are usually the ones who engage with the treatment, act on advice, reflect on the sessions, and carry out any exercises or tasks given. You can be assured that as an experienced full-time professional and ethical psychotherapist, I will bring all my skills, knowledge, experience and ongoing training to bear in helping you to achieve your goals. However, as I have no control over your commitment, involvement, life circumstances or what you do outside of the sessions, I cannot offer any guarantees.
