Would I Benefit From Seeing a Psychotherapist or Counsellor?
We all encounter uncomfortable feelings at some point or another within our lives. A wide range of emotions such as depression, hopelessness, anxiety and stress normally occur naturally as a part of our everyday life. As an example, it is actually quite normal to experience some level of anxiety or stress prior to an interview or examination.
Where it becomes a problem is when these behavior overwhelm you so much that it becomes difficult for you to perform normally in your every day life. If you are upset, tearful, have eating issues, insomnia issues, have poor attention, are lacking direction, have very low energy and enthusiasm, are drinking or using drugs to the extreme, have persistant low mood, having trouble managing your temper or getting along with others, then you ought to really think about visiting a psychotherapist.

I am aware that it is absolutely essential that you feel at ease with your therapist. Which is exactly why I offer an Initial Consultation Session without any obligation to continue.
This allows us the chance to meet face-to-face, obtain a detailed case history and additionally discuss your problems, desired outcomes and the treatment process, in much more detail. Providing you with the opportunity to ask any questions, before making up your mind about continuing with the treatment. You will get honest answers to any queries you might have along with a realistic estimate of the number of sessions you will require. Also this initial session offers me the chance to determine if I can help you. How many sessions will I need?
As everyone is different this is a very difficult question to answer without speaking with you in much more depth. For short-term brief therapy dealing with a particular problem, you will probably need to budget not less than 6 to 12 sessions. For more deep rooted, life-long, chronic, or complex issues needing longer term psychotherapy or counselling, a lot more sessions will obviously be needed. Sessions usually take place weekly, however this may be negotiated to fit your own circumstances. After our initial consultation I will have a far greater sense of both you along with the things you need to work on, and will be able to offer you a better estimate.
