Ten Ways to Know it is Finally Time to Stop Smoking

1. Has your smoking habit begun to control your life? Have you ever not been able to go to sleep until you are sure that you have a cigarette available for morning?

2. Have friends and family told you that your clothing, hair and breath smell like an ashtray? If they haven’t, you can be sure they are thinking it!! Are you spending almost as much in breath mints as you are in cigarettes? If you aren’t embarrassed about your smoking then why are you trying so hard to cover it up?

3. Are professional colleagues shunning you now that they have quit smoking?
Let’s face it… It is no longer “cool” to smoke. Your smoking is viewed as a lack of control issue. Exhibiting lack of control is not the way to get ahead in your job.

4. Do you sit in meetings focused only on getting to the break so you can rush outside to smoke? As a manager do you end meetings with things still left to accomplish because of your need to smoke?

5. Does your favourite restaurant not have a smoking section any more? Non-smokers are now in the majority and they do not want to taste your cigarette with their expensive meal. Restauranteurs are attuned to the bottom line, not yoursmoking needs.

6. Are you standing outside smoking alone because your spouse doesn’t allow it in the house? What do you think this is doing for your relationship? Between work and your smoking alone, how much time is available for your relationship. Remember that breath mint… he or she doesn’t want to kiss an ash tray.

7. You’re afraid to stop this dangerous habit because you fear the weight gain that so many people have experienced, but you are beginning to fear diseased lungs even more. Have you reached that “critical pack years” that almost assures your painful and agonising death? (1 pack-year = smoke equivalent to 1 pack of cigarettes per day per year. If you smoke 2 packs a day for 10 years you have reached 20 pack years) 25 is the critical number. You don’t have much chance of beating it at this point.

8. What’s up with those lines around your mouth? The continuous lip pressure on a cigarette has now begun to add years to the look of your face. Squinting to keep the smoke out of your eyes isn’t helping them either. And most facial surgeons won’t even schedule surgery until you quit. Their reputations are at stake because a facelift quickly deteriorates when you continue to smoke.

9. You get up in the morning and shower and use deodorant before heading out the door for work. Why? Because you don’t want to offend anyone you come in contact with. Notice how people back away after your first cigarette? You might as well have gone to work dirty!!!

10. At work, do you smoke alone outside, in all weathers, sunshine, rain, wind and snow? If a colleague asked you to stand outside in the cold, wind and rain, and drink a cup of tea or coffee with them, would you think they had gone insane? Why would you be prepared to do it for a cigarette but not for anything else?

Does hypnosis work?

Hypnosis is the most effective way of giving up smoking, according to the largest ever scientific comparison of ways of breaking the habit. Willpower it turns out, counts for very little.” New Scientist vol 136 issue 1845 page 6

“Nicotine Gum had only just over a 10% success rate, our results have shown us that Hypnosis is THE MOST EFFECTIVE way to become a non-smoker!” New Scientist vol 136 issue 1845 page 6

“To find the most effective method to stop smoking, Frank Schmidt and research student Chockalingham Viswesvaran from the University of Iowa used a meta-analysis, utilising the results of more than 600 studies totalling nearly 72,000 people. The results which were published in the Journal of Applied Psychology and included 48 studies of hypnosis covering 6000 smokers, clearly showed that hypnosis, was many times more effective than NRT.” New Scientist vol 136 issue 1845 page 6

What are the benefits of stopping smoking?

Smoking Hypnotherapy Manchester ~ Smoking Hypnosis Manchester ~ Smoking Manchester ~ Smoking Cessation ~ Quit Smoking Hypnotherapy Manchester ~ Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy Manchester ~ Quit Smoking Hypnotherapy ~ Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy ~ Smoking Cessation Manchester ~ Smoking Cessation ~ Advanced Hypnotherapist ~ Licensed NLP Master PractitionerThere are three main ways in which you will benefit by becoming a happy, healthy, relaxed, confident non-smoker and these are quite simply as follows:You will Save your Health.
You will Save Time.
You will Save Money.

The benefits you will notice within a few weeks of giving up are:

  • your hair, skin and breath no longer smell of tobacco smoke
  • your breathing is easier
  • your sense of taste and smell improve
  • you’ll see a reduction in phlegm and smoker’s cough
  • your lung efficiency starts to recover to a rate similar to a non-smoker
  • you will be better able to cope with physical exertion
  • you’ll feel positive about yourself for having stopped
  • and of course, you will have saved money through not buying cigarettes

What are the Health benefits of Stopping Smoking?

People who quit, regardless of age, live longer than people who continue to
smoke. Smokers who quit before age 50 have half the risk of dying in the next 15 years compared with those who continue to smoke. Quitting smoking substantially decreases the risk of cancer of the lung, larynx, pharynx, oesophagus, mouth, pancreas, bladder, and cervix. Benefits of quitting include risk reduction for other major diseases including coronary heart disease, lung diseases, and cardiovascular disease.

Smoking Hypnotherapy Manchester ~ Smoking Hypnosis Manchester ~ Smoking Manchester ~ Smoking Cessation ~ Quit Smoking Hypnotherapy Manchester ~ Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy Manchester ~ Quit Smoking Hypnotherapy ~ Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy ~ Smoking Cessation Manchester ~ Smoking Cessation ~ Advanced Hypnotherapist ~ Licensed NLP Master PractitionerEvery year, 120,000 smokers in the UK die as a result of their habit. Smoking causes thirty per cent of all cancer deaths (including at least 80% of lung cancer deaths), 17% of all heart disease deaths and at least 80% of deaths from bronchitis and emphysema. It is estimated that between 25 and 30 per cent of all cancers in developed countries are tobacco-related. From the results of studies conducted in Europe, Japan and North America, between 83 and 92 per cent of lung cancers in men, and between 57 and 80 per cent of lung cancers in women, are attributable to cigarette smoking. Between 80 and 90 per cent of cancers arising in the oesophagus, larynx and oral cavity are related to the effects of tobacco.

There is now strong evidence of the adverse health consequences of
passive smoking. The risk of lung cancer is increased in non-smoking women who have husbands who smoke tobacco. There also appears to be an increased risk of myocardial infarction due to exposure to other peoples smoke and the adverse health consequences in children whose parents smoke includes an increase in the frequency and severity of asthma. New studies include your pets in the list of those adversely affected by second hand smoke.

Tobacco can kill in many different ways including causes such as lung cancer and other forms of cancer, heart disease, strokes and chronic bronchitis and other respiratory diseases. Smokers have three times the death rate in middle age (between the ages of 35 and 69) than non-smokers and about half of regular cigarette smokers will eventually be killed by their habit.
Many of these are not particularly heavy smokers but they can be characterised by having started smoking while a teenager. Half of the deaths from tobacco will take place in middle age (35-64) and each will lose approximately 20-25 years of non-smokers life expectancy: the remaining half of the deaths will take place after the age of 70. However, there is clear and consistent evidence that stopping smoking before having cancer or some other serious disease avoids most of the later excess risk of death from tobacco even if smoking stops in middle age.

What are the Time benefits?

A two pack, 40 a day smoker spends around one million 460,000 minutes of their lifetime smoking. That’s equivalent to 24,320 hours or indeed 1,000 days!

Smoking Hypnotherapy Manchester ~ Smoking Hypnosis Manchester ~ Smoking Manchester ~ Smoking Cessation ~ Quit Smoking Hypnotherapy Manchester ~ Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy Manchester ~ Quit Smoking Hypnotherapy ~ Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy ~ Smoking Cessation Manchester ~ Smoking Cessation ~ Advanced Hypnotherapist ~ Licensed NLP Master PractitionerImagine it, that’s equivalent to throwing away 2 and ¾ years of your life out of every 20 years that you remain a smoker. That’s well over five years that the average smoker reading this stands to waste if they continue smoking!
That’s like subjecting yourself to a five-year jail sentence, just because, until now you have allowed yourself to become a slave to smoking.

Most people who give up smoking can, on average increase their life span by at least five years, and don’t forget those will be five happier, healthier and more relaxed years, during which you will have far more money available to spend on the good things in life!

So in most all cases by becoming a non smoker you will have added around five years to your life span, add to that the five years you would have wasted whilst actually smoking the cigarettes and you will have gained TEN EXTRA YEARS OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS & FREEDOM!

Best of all you can become a happy, healthy, relaxed non smoker within just two sessions which takes only two hour of your most valuable time!

What are the financial benefits of Quitting Smoking?

Smoking Hypnotherapy Manchester ~ Smoking Hypnosis Manchester ~ Smoking Manchester ~ Smoking Cessation ~ Quit Smoking Hypnotherapy Manchester ~ Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy Manchester ~ Quit Smoking Hypnotherapy ~ Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy ~ Smoking Cessation Manchester ~ Smoking Cessation ~ Advanced Hypnotherapist ~ Licensed NLP Master PractitionerThose who smoke between 20 to 40 Cigarettes a day will save around £2,500 per year by becoming a non-smoker. You will also save 30% on your life insurance costs. That means you could save well over £100,000 during your lifetime by simply becoming a non-smoker!

The current cost of the Quit Smoking treatment starts from as little as £100 per person when booking a small group of four, or just £150 for an individual booking, making it by far the best financial investment you will ever make.

Consider this, place £150 into a bank or building society account for a year and at current interest rates you would be lucky if you made a few pounds for the year on your original investment.

However take this same £150 and invest it into yourself by way of becoming a non-smoker and in around one month you will have recouped your original investmentand you will then continue to profit for the rest of your life!

That means that in the same one year period, your investment of £150, would by becoming a non-smoker have made you around 1,400%+ Tax Free return by way of the money you will save in one year by not buying Cigarettes!

No other form of investment can bring you such a large financial return for such a low investment in such a short space of time, and don’t forget you keep on saving money and thereby getting a huge return on your original investment of £150 for the rest of your life!

What’s in a cigarette?

Nicotine is the most widely known chemical in tobacco smoke, but many people are amazed to discover that there are over 4,500 other chemicals produced when tobacco burns. Most of these have incomprehensible names and are really only known to scientists and chemical analysts. Listed below, though, are some of the more well known ones.

Excerpt from the report
Tobacco additives. Cigarette engineering and nicotine addiction.
C Bates, M Jarvis, G Connolly. 14 July 1999.

‘Most additives are not necessary and few were used before 1970. There is cause for concern in the following areas.

  • Additives are used to make cigarettes that provide high levels of ‘free’ nicotine which increases the addictive ‘kick’ of the nicotine. Ammonium compounds can fulfil this role by raising the alkalinity of smoke
  • Additives are used to enhance the taste of tobacco smoke, to make the product more desirable to consumers. Although seemingly innocuous the addition of flavourings making the cigarette ‘attractive’ and ‘palatable’ is in itself cause for concern.
  • Sweeteners and chocolate may help to make cigarettes more palatable to children and first time users; eugenol and menthol numb the throat so the smoker cannot feel the smoke’s aggravating effects.
  • Additives such as cocoa may be used to dilate the airways allowing the smoke an easier and deeper passage into the lungs exposing the body to more nicotine and higher levels of tar.
  • Some additives are toxic or addictive in their own right or in combination. When additives are burned, new products of combustion are formed and these may be toxic or pharmacologically active.
  • Additives are used to mask the smell and visibility of side-stream smoke, making it harder for people to protect themselves and undermining claims that smoking is anti-social without at the same time reducing the health risks of passive smoking.’

What happens during the stop smoking treatment in Manchester?

I am a professional fully qualified and experienced Advanced HypnotherapistPsychotherapist and a Licensed NLP Master Practitioner who helps people stop smoking with Hypnotherapy and NLP in Manchester. I have trained with some of the best hypnotherapy and NLP trainers, including Paul McKenna, and by Dr Richard Bandler – the creator of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). I combine all my skills and experience to produce a treatment that is tailored to your needs. So that I can help you to stop smoking in the most effortless ways possible.

I combine Hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and Psychotherapy which are individually recognised as highly successful ways of changing peoples behaviours and perceptions. So I’m sure you can imagine the amazing benefits of combining these powerful processes, allowing you to quickly and easily change the thoughts and behaviours you currently have regarding smoking. Willpower becomes unnecessary as you just find yourself changing in beneficial ways.

I do smoking cessation over two 1 hour sessions, usually spaced 5-7 days apart, as statistics show this provides better results.

During the first session:

  • We will explore your personal reasons behind your habit.
  • Explain useful techniques to help you give up.
  • I will guide you into a pleasant and relaxed hypnotic state during which you will remain in control and will be fully aware of everything that is happening.
  • Using advanced hypnotherapy and powerful NLP techniques we begin the process of breaking that habit.
  • I will give you a hypnosis CD to take home which will powerfully reinforce the work we do during the first session. You need to listen to this CD once a day for the first two weeks and then every other day for the next two week.

To take the pressure off and allow your mind to prepare, you don’t have to stop smoking between the first and second sessions, but many of my previous clients have found that they do naturally find themselves cutting down or stopping.

During the second session:

  • I will guide you into a pleasant and comfortable hypnotic state.
  • We will then spend the entire second session dealing in detail with the specific reasons behind your smoking habit using advanced hypnotherapy and NLP techniques.
  • You leave as a non-smoker*.
